Welcome to Waitoriki School

Active in Learning: Loving to Learn

Mātātoa ki roto i te akoranga: Aroha ki te Ako

Kia Ora. Welcome to Waitoriki School community. Waitoriki is a growing school with a current roll of 64. We are a rural full primary situated just 3.6km East of Inglewood on Lincoln Road. Our tamariki work collaboratively across Kauri, Kowhai and Totara akomanga (learning spaces), named to celebrate the mature trees in our school grounds. We have a strong emphasis on our enviro-schools program, the Key Competencies, STEAM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths), and play/inquiry based learning. Our school prides itself for our friendly whanau atmosphere and our holistic approach to education. We trust your association with our school will be a long and happy one.

Welcome to the 2022 school year.

This year we welcome 2 lovely new full time teachers onto the team. Whaea Caitlan and Whaea Dayna are both excited to be at Waitoriki school. We are hoping for no lockdowns to disrupt learning, working hard to remain inclusive to all our community and hoping to be able to celebrate our students leanings and achievements with our wider community once again. As Taranaki is currently in the orange level please check our COVID-19 page to see how this impacts our everyday school life.

Sadly we have already had to cancel our whole school camp and our community picnic however we are every hopeful that we may be able to catch these up later in the year.

We encourage our school families to keep an eye out for updates on our school calendar and school Facebook page,

This year school starts on Wednesday 2nd February.

Our school hours continue to be 9.10 am - 3.10 pm.

Welcome to Term 1 2022

A new year, a new beginning.

This year we are looking forward to a less interrupted school year, however, we are prepared for everything (well most things which may eventuate at school).

Being the warmest term being sunsmart is a top priority, especially as we spend so much of our days outside with swimming in the afternoons and often a lunch time swim as well.

This term we have welcomed our third teacher to our staff. It is very nice to now be a 3 teacher school, our little school is no longer so little and over the past few years has grown from strength to strength.

Major events this term include

  • School picnic

  • Whole school camp

  • Swimming Sports

  • Parent open evening

  • Science roadshow

Check out our Calendar page for more information.

We look forward to a wonderful year with all our new and returning families.
