Everyday examples of writing: write around the room (list all of the objects that you can see), 5 minute words (write down as many words as you can in 5 minutes, the students would love to race with you),  write down rhyming words, go outside and write about what you can see.  At school the students are asked to write the sounds that they can hear in the words as we are using our phonics knowledge to write.
